Last season, Utah developed Caleb Lohner, a 6'8" basketball player, into one of the most unstoppable red zone targets in all of college football despite the lack of offensive production in the redzone.
This upcoming season, Morgan Scalley has the chance to develop another multi-sport athlete into one of the best pocket crashers in the conference as Ryker Kemp has officially announced his intent to play on the football team.
The catch is that Kemp has been committed to Utah's Lacrosse team for a long time, and he still plans to be a crucial part of the squad once the football campaign concludes, just like Lohner with the Runnin' Utes.
The Ponte Verde, Florida native is a three-star prospect, and at 6-foot-6, 250 pounds, Kemp has all the measurements to be a menace for offensive tackles.
Kemp racked up an impressive 16 sacks in his senior season, earning him all-county honors as a defensive end, and most likely motivating him to take on the task of being a collegiate two-sport athlete.
With the announcement, Kemp becomes the 26th recruit and sixth defensive line commit of Utah's 2025 class, and should he participate in spring camp, there will be plenty of intrigue surrounding his development.
