The Utah Utes continue to strengthen their 2026 recruiting class with the addition of three‑star offensive lineman Moses Sparks from Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

Standing 6‑5 and weighing 275 pounds, Sparks brings extensive experience at right tackle and the physical traits to transition into a guard role in the collegiate trenches.

Sparks made the most of his official visit to Utah on June 6 after previously taking an OV to Boise State on May 30. He also received interest from programs like Nebraska, Texas Tech, and Arizona State. Still, the Utes’ pitch, anchored by offensive line coach Jim Harding’s success in developing NFL talent, won him over.

In New Mexico, Sparks is already making waves. He was ranked No. 1 among high school players statewide by NMPreps, a testament to his length, power, and ability to set the edge in the run game. Utah’s pursuit of him reflects a broader strategy to add size and versatility up front as the Utes settle into the new Big 12 landscape.

By adding Sparks, Utah ensures greater depth across the interior O-line, a key area after graduation departures, and the need to keep the trenches strong heading into the future. He joins fellow three-star midwestern lineman Rowdy Pearce in providing youth with high ceilings.

Sparks’s official visit underscores Utah’s regional recruiting expansion beyond traditional western strongholds. If his physical traits and technique translate on the field, he could push for early snaps in a revamped line unit.

Look for Sparks to emerge as a developmental priority shortly after stepping foot on campus. His addition continues Utah’s balanced approach of securing both in-state blue-chippers and out-of-state grinders ready to step into Big 12 competition.
