Veeam Software is doubling down on its commitment to Major League Cricket by renewing its sponsorship of the Seattle Orcas through 2027.
The data protection and ransomware recovery firm has backed the team since its inception in 2023 and will continue to feature its branding on player jerseys.
“Cricket demands split-second decision-making, unwavering focus, and the ability to recover from every bouncer,” said Anand Eswaran, CEO of Veeam Software. “That mirrors our approach to data: anticipate threats, deploy defenses, and come back stronger after each challenge. Partnering with the Seattle Orcas isn’t just about logos on jerseys; it’s about rallying behind a shared passion for resilience and excellence.”
Veeam’s involvement reflects the broader support the Orcas have received from Seattle’s tech elite. Other investors in the team include Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Madrona Venture Group’s S. Soma Somasegar, Icertis co-founder and CEO Samir Bodas, GreatPoint Ventures’ Ashok Krishnamurthi, and former Microsoft and Avalara executive Sanjay Parthasarathy.
Seattle Orcas CEO Hemant Dua welcomed the continued partnership, calling Veeam the team’s “secret weapon.
“We’re thrilled to keep Veeam in our crease as we continue our journey in Major League Cricket,” said Dua. “Their support has been our secret weapon, fueling our offense with top talent and shoring up our defense when the match tightens. This partnership is about building community, driving innovation, and making cricket America’s summer spectacle and the Seattle Orcas America’s favorite cricket team.”
The Orcas will open their 2025 Major League Cricket season on June 14 against the Washington Freedom.
