Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry may have failed to win the American Century Championship over the weekend, but that doesn't mean he's frustrated about it.

In fact, it's clear the NBA great was happy and proud of this year's winner, former NHL star Joe Pavelski.

Curry, who won the ACC in 2023, finished fifth in the competition after garnering 51 points under the modified Stableford scoring system, per ESPN. Pavelski, for his part, had 78 points to beat former MLB pitcher and eventual second-placer John Smoltz by nine points.

After his win at Edgewood Tahoe, Pavelski took to social media to celebrate the victory and thank the "special people" who made it possible for him to win.

"Another special week at the American Century Championship with some special people," Pavelski posted on Instagram, along with several photos taken during the event.

"Tahoe, you always produce the perfect setting but year nine was just a little bit sweeter! Birthday/Anniversary week capped off with a ship! @matt.fornataro we finally got one. Also, an amazing job by everyone that makes this the best week of the summer. #neveradoubt #oneheartbeat."

Steph Curry saw Joe Pavelski's post and quickly shared it on his Instagram Stories. The Warriors sharpshooter was beaming with pride and joy for his opponent at the American Century Championship, as he wrote, "Big time."

Pavelski took home $150,000 of the $750,000 prize pool with his win, while Smoltz bagged $70,000 as the runner-up.

American country singer Jake Owen finished third to claim $40,000 in prize money. Former soccer player Taylor Twellman finished fourth and won $30,000. Curry earned $25,000 as a result of finishing in the top five.
