Who does Washington miss from the Big Ten schedule?

Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Penn State, USC

The Huskies might not miss Ohio State, Michigan, or Ohio State, but the eight they don’t play would’ve all been dangerous games - even Northwestern.

Indiana and Penn State went to the College Football Playoff, Michigan State should be stronger, Iowa, Minnesota, and Nebraska will be in the mix for big seasons, and you’re not complaining anytime you miss USC.

Washington football schedule, the good and the bad

The Good: Washington doesn’t leave the State until October, and it only leaves twice before going to Wisconsin in the second week of November.

Last season’s loss to Washington State hurt, but win this time around and it’ll be a 3-0 start before hosting Ohio State - at least that’s a home game, as is the date with Oregon.

Going to Michigan and Wisconsin and UCLA doesn’t seem like a breeze, but Washington could be okay as long as those three aren’t vastly better than 2024.

The Bad: Michigan, Wisconsin, UCLA - and Maryland - should all be better. On the plus side, all four of those games are spread out. On the negative side, Washington doesn’t have two home games in a row after the first two weeks.

The two off-weeks don’t help all that much. The first one is too early - Week 3 - and the second is in early November before going to Wisconsin.

Washington Football Schedule: Best and worst case scenarios

Best Case Scenario: Realistically, the Huskies get to the Michigan game in the middle of the season 5-1. Forgive a loss to Ohio State, and go from there.

They win two of the three games against Michigan, Wisconsin, and UCLA on the road, don’t slip against Illinois at home, and shock Oregon to go 10-2 and get into the mix for a CFP spot.

Worst Case Scenario: The Huskies lose to Washington State again. That’s made even worse with a loss to Ohio State to follow, and the team can never find a groove from there.

There’s a problem with the three road games against Michigan, Wisconsin, and UCLA, a loss to Oregon hurts, and it’ll take a win over Oregon just to get bowl eligible.

Season Prediction: (Feb. 1) It’s not a totally awful schedule, but it’ll be hard to find any flow whatsoever without any long stretch at home. On the flip side, the every other week road trip thing might get Washington into a different sort of a groove.

For now, figure a 1-2 run against Ohio State, at Michigan, and Oregon, but a 3-0 start being enough to get to seven wins and bowl eligibility comfortably.

The Season Prediction will be updated several times this offseason
