On the road against the 21st team in the nation, SMU was able to come away with a 2-0 victory over Notre Dame. Both of the Mustangs' goals came from Milton Lopez. The first goal came in the 66th minute, and was a total rocket from outside the box. The next goal came off a failed set play by Notre Dame in the 90th minute, which ended up with Lopez on the break for an empty-netter.
