More from Bookies.com on West Virginia’s ranking:

If you like to park your truck and pop a few tops in the lot, nobody does it better than the Mountaineers in Morgantown. They ranked No. 1 in tailgating, and No. 4 in family sentiment, sparked in part by the parade to the stadium with the team, known as the Mountaineer Mantrip. One has to prefer tailgating to bars; the lack of a major entertainment hub hurt WVU’s overall score. (2023 ranking: 5th Big 12)

The Big 12 officially added Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah last Friday, bringing the league’s total to 16 schools. Texas and Oklahoma, who ranked No. 1 and 2 in Bookies.com’s pregame rankings last year, made their official departures to the SEC this summer.
