After winning his fifth NBA championship in 2010, Kobe Bryant spent six more years in the league. But due to injury troubles and age finally catching up to him, Bryant slowly transitioned from one of the best players in the league to an NBA veteran.

This transition, in a way, also made him tone down his ruthless mentality. Maybe not too much, but just enough to joke about things, of course, in his own unique way.

Back in 2014, during NBA media day, the Mamba was asked to choose between his then-teammate Nick Young and Young's girlfriend Iggy Azalea. Bryant chose Azalea and had a pretty solid backing for his choice.

"Iggy. She has been more successful in her career so far."

Kobe's hilarious reply to the question nudged fans in the direction of making memes of Young.

As for Young's relationship with Iggy, the couple got engaged. Unfortunately, things didn't work out between them as they, later on, broke the marriage.

The incident happened in 2016 and Iggy had a pretty solid reason for breaking things up with Swaggy P.

"I broke up with Nick because I found out he had brought other women into our home while I was away and caught them on the security footage. I have never even been told by nick that his baby mother is pregnant so if this is true I’m finding out via E news. This is just like a second shot to the chest. And I feel like I don’t even know who the hell it is I’ve been loving all this time.”

At the time, the rapper went on a tweeting spree, unfortunately; the tweets have now been taken down.

After Young's relationship swirled down the hole, his NBA career followed the same path. The former Lakers guard has been out of the league since the 2018-19 NBA season where he last played for the Denver Nuggets.

Since then he hasn't made an appearance in the NBA. He signed a contract with Big 3's Enemies in April 2021. Considering he is 36-years-old now, it is hard to see him making a comeback to the NBA.
