Recruiting rankings updates aren't always kind to Tennessee Vols commits (just ask George MacIntyre).
The latest update from 247Sports, however, was very kind to 2026 five-star Vols quarterback commit Faizon Brandon.
Brandon, who committed to Tennessee in August, is still rated as the No. 1 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class in 247Sports' latest ratings update.
That's due in part to the fact that Brandon has performed exceptionally well this fall for Grimsley High School in Greensboro, NC.
According to 247Sports, Brandon is throwing with "much more anticipation".
From 247Sports: Speaking of Brandon, he has guided Greensboro Grimsley to the top west seed in North Carolina's 4A playoffs, posting a 10-0 record as a second-year starter. His completion percentage and yards per attempt rank first amongst all the arms in the Top247. What stands out about Brandon this fall is the fact that he's throwing with much more anticipation. He's also taking care of the football with just one interception to date.

Tennessee currently has six players committed to its 2026 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 5 in the nation.
