Star forward Trinity Rodman was left off Emma Hayes' 26-player roster for each of the United States' friendly matches against Italy.
Therefore, she will not be suiting up for the Americans on Monday in the second of consecutive games against the Italians to close out the 2025 calendar.
The United States won the first match 3-0 on Friday behind two goals from Catarina Macario. Olivia Moultrie also scored in the contest.
Inter Miami's Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale will host the second match at 7 p.m. Eastern Time on Monday. It will be broadcast on TBS, HBO Max and Peacock.
Rodman is lacking sharpness after back and MCL injuries interrupted her 2025 season. The 23-year-old was removed from the NWSL's availability report ahead of the 2025 NWSL Championship.
She came off the bench and played for 33 minutes in the 1-0 loss to Gotham FC. Rose Lavelle's 80th-minute goal won the match for Gotham.
After losing the final, Rodman admitted that she "definitely underperformed." She did not record a shot during the match.
Rodman has made 47 appearances for the U.S. women's national team. She has scored 11 goals in international play.
With the NWSL season over, Rodman's future has been a hot topic. Chelsea and Arsenal of the Women's Super League and the DC Power of the Gainbridge Super League are chasing after her signature.
We'll see if Rodman makes enough progress to take part in the USWNT's first international friendly of 2026 against Paraguay on January 24 in Carson, California.
