The University of Kentucky women’s basketball team will be taking on Lipscomb in their final game before the Christmas break on Thursday, December 21 at 11 a.m. ET. The game will be held at Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center. The program is inviting fans to join in the festivities by grabbing a free temporary tattoo at the entrance. This is part of their ongoing jubilee for the program’s 50th anniversary, with 90s day being celebrated at this game.

If you can’t make it to the arena, you can catch the game on SEC Network+, with Jeff Piecoro and Christi Thomas providing commentary. Alternatively, you can listen to the play-by-play on UK Sports Network and / or 630 AM WLAP, with Darren Headrick calling the action.

The Wildcats currently have a record of 5-7 this season, with a 5-2 record at home and a 2-1 record at Rupp Arena. This mid-morning game will mark their final nonconference game at Rupp Arena this season, before they move on to their Southeastern Conference schedule.

In their last game, Kentucky secured a 30-point win over Furman, with a final score of 75-45. They had an impressive shooting performance, making 54.5 percent of their field goals and 41.2 percent from beyond the arc. This included tying the second-highest number of three-pointers made this season.

Four players scored in double digits in that game, including two bench players. Kentucky has a perfect record of 5-0 when at least four players reach double digits this season. Furthermore, they recorded a season-high 31 bench points, 20 assists, and 12 steals against Furman.

Sophomore guard Saniah Tyler led the team in scoring, coming off the bench to put up 17 points. She currently ranks sixth in the SEC in three-point field-goal percentage, having made at least one three-pointer in all 12 games this season. Senior forward Ajae Petty was right behind her with 16 points and also contributed a team-high nine rebounds. Petty ranks second in both field-goal percentage and rebounds in the conference.

Lipscomb, Kentucky’s upcoming opponent, is coming off a loss to SEC team Vanderbilt. They have four players averaging double-digit scoring and are led by Bella Vinson with 11.8 points per game. As a team, Lipscomb is averaging 65.3 points per game, shooting 39.1 percent from the field and 33.5 percent from beyond the arc.

Kentucky holds a 2-0 all-time series lead against Lipscomb, with their first meeting taking place in 2007. In games played in Lexington, Kentucky leads 1-0.

There will also be various promotions and game themes for the Kentucky-Lipscomb game, including a temporary tattoo giveaway and 90s Night, where fans can expect to hear some of the best tunes from that decade.

Parking will be available for Big Blue Nation in the High Street lots starting three hours prior to tip-off, with free parking provided for all fans attending the game.
