A major safety target visited the Wisconsin football staff in Madison recently and left impressed with the experience ahead of commitment time.
Jamyan Theodore, a three-star defensive back in the 2026 recruiting class, has become a fast rising recruit on the board for Wisconsin. The Badgers just recently had the recruit on campus for an official visit which may have tipped the scale in the favor of Wisconsin.
The defensive back left the visit and promptly posted onto social media an image of a badger followed by multiple question marks, and has since posted similar content. Theodore has done similar things with other programs, but the recruit has primarily been silent throughout the process up until official visit season.
The Tennessee native has also been vocal about his connection with the Volunteers program, who are arguably the team to watch ahead of a possible commitment announcement from Theodore. Kentucky and Louisville have also been programs very close to the recruit, with each still being a possible landing spot for Theodore this deep into his recruitment.
For the Wisconsin football staff, securing a commitment from Theodore is currently a priority as the recruit appears to be a perfect fit into the new style of play the Badgers want to introduce.
Both offensively and defensively, Wisconsin wants to be faster, more physical, and more willing moving forward. The Wisconsin football staff has recruited players specifically who are quick, intelligent, and not afraid to risk injury in order to make a play on the field. Enter Theodore, and the Badgers have found just the guy to play safety and a variety of positions in the secondary. The 6-foot, roughly 175-pound defensive back is lightning fast on the field with amazing vision which allows for the recruit to get to where the play is going to happen with ease.
Theodore is also a hard-hitter and a physical player despite his lack of size compared to bigger players at the collegiate level. The safety already has the ability to sit the ballcarrier down with the right hit, and could become an even more lethal player when his frame is filled out entirely. As mentioned, Theodore also has potential at multiple positions given his vision and athleticism which bodes well for the recruit who is eager to hit the field.
