The Wisconsin football staff has been preparing to host an abundance of recruits this weekend, including a running back who has shown interest.

Sa’Nir Brooks, a 2027 running back from Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, has long been a Wisconsin football enthusiast. Brooks received an offer from Wisconsin in May and stated that he had been “waiting” for the offer to land. The rising running back currently holds offers from Minnesota, Michigan State, USF, Syracuse, and West Virginia as well.

The three-star running back has also been in close contact with in-state heroes Penn State, but does not have an offer in hand yet. The recruit has already visited campus twice unofficially, however, which could be a sign of a connection being built.

Brooks is set to visit campus during one of the biggest recruiting weekends the Wisconsin football staff puts together each year. Bucky’s BBQ began as a recruiting event for rising juniors and has now become a meeting of sorts for 2027 recruits, commitments, and local talent as well.

For the Wisconsin football staff, hosting Brooks and extending an offer is a great step in the right direction as the recruit will only see the process continue to take-off. Brooks recently transferred out of state to Maryland, where he will continue his high school career at St. Frances Academy.

Wisconsin Football Program Could Become Perfect Fit For Physical Running Back Sa’Nir Brooks

While Brooks might be interested in Wisconsin at the moment, his recruitment has only just begun and a switch to academy football in Maryland could allow for greater exposure.

The talented running back is a dynamic athlete on the field and it is not difficult to see why some major programs are already throwing everything at the recruit. Brooks stands in at 5-feet-10-inches, and just over 200-pounds of solid mass. Once the running back has a full head of steam, tackling him becomes extremely difficult.

Physicality is the name of the game for Brooks and that can be seen in his excellent stiff arms and brutal trucks. The legs of Brooks are always moving and trying to bring down the running back is a task that often requires multiple players.

The physical, bullish nature of Brooks as a runner screams Wisconsin football, and with a return to some of the roots of the program the running back could become an excellent fit within the offense.
