The Wisconsin football staff has extended a scholarship to a 2028 athlete who may quickly become a household name within the class.

Mylan Griggs, a 2028 athlete, has loads of potential on the football field and has only just begun to scratch the surface of his recruitment. Griggs currently holds scholarships from Kentucky, Louisville, Miami (FL), and USC after a productive season.

The Detroit, Michigan native is currently listed as an athlete with interest coming in at different positions for Griggs. The athlete received a scholarship from running backs coach Devon Spalding and has been viewed as a receiving back by the Badgers staff. Griggs could also have a bright future as a receiver given his ability to cut and lose defenders with ease in the open field.

Regardless of where Griggs lines up on the field, the athlete is a dangerous player who seemingly always finds a way to make an impact. Griggs also comes from a talent-rich area of Michigan where Wisconsin is looking to establish themselves.

The Wisconsin football staff just landed Novi native Jack Janda in the 2026 class, and hope to make the same impact in the 2027 and 2028 classes in Michigan.

Wisconsin Football Staff Offers Scholarship to 2028 Michigan Athlete Mylan Griggs

While the Wisconsin football staff sees many 2028 class players as long-term recruiting projects, Griggs is ready to get the recruiting process kick-started.

Griggs, a 6-foot-1-inch, 170-pound athlete, worked out in front of coach Spalding before receiving a scholarship offer. Griggs stated that receiving the offer was “electric” and the recruit was excited to show what he can do to “hopefully be a contribution to the Badgers in the future” during the workout.

On the field, Griggs is a difficult player to stop due to his combination of speed and agility both with or without the football. Even when Griggs is not the primary player on a given play, the opposing defense needs to utilize resources to ensure the athlete cannot make an impact.

The impact the athlete has is great on the field, and in the eyes of Griggs the success is largely due to his mentality. On the field, the athlete is someone other players rely upon to make the big plays.

When asked about what sets the athlete apart, Griggs stated, “I’m a leader, passionate, and a dog who can play on both sides of the field.” When asked if Griggs feels as though coaches appreciate his mentality on the field, the athlete stated, “Yes, I do think they do because I am also very intelligent and very patient so I know when the time to strike is on the field.”

On the field, Griggs describes himself as a “get knocked down and get back up” type of player, which is what the Wisconsin football staff truly appreciates about the recruit.
