Wisconsin Football Snags Huge Recruiting Weekend Win With 2026 Three-Star Commitment

The Wisconsin football staff has made a splash to open up one of the bigger recruiting weekends of the year for the program.

The Badgers secured a verbal commitment from 2026 three-star defensive lineman Arthur Scott right at the end of his current Madison visit. Scott had seemingly made a cut down to Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Michigan State, and Rutgers after booking visits with each. The recruit only needed to attend a visit in Madison, however, before making a commitment decision.

Defensive line coach EJ Whitlow was pivotal in the commitment of Scott, who had a very productive weekend with the coach. Scott will bring a big frame, aggressive play on the field, and an excellent attitude off the field to Madison in the future.

The commitment of Scott comes just days after fellow 2026 Wisconsin football defensive line commitment Carmelow Reed announced his visit to Ole Miss. Reed has not exited his commitment, but the visit could certainly be a great test of how solid the commitment really is.

With the commitment of Scott officially locked in, it will be interesting to see how the addition of another defensive lineman potentially impacts the class moving forward.

Wisconsin Football Lands Three-Star Defensive Lineman Arthur Scott

Each year, programs put together specific weekends where all of the stops are pulled out to impress as many top-level recruits as possible. For the Wisconsin football this, this weekend has been one such time with some potential class-altering recruits hitting campus.

Visits are the perfect time for a staff to give the best pitch to a recruit in the environment that the recruit will be in. The 6-foot-3-inch, roughly 290-pound defensive lineman entered Madison with high expectations and only continued to fall deeper in love with the program as more time was spent on campus.

For the Wisconsin football staff, Whitlow pushed for a commitment from Scott due to what the recruit could potentially offer the program. On the field, Scott is a tenacious defender who attacks offenses with both power and finesse moves. The defensive lineman also has a great boost of speed that often catches opposing offenses off-guard.

Off of the field, Scott is a vocal standup leader who is not afraid of keeping the rest of the team in line. The attitude Scott possesses is perhaps one of the bigger tools the recruit showcases as the athlete often leads the defense and his unit in particular.

Scott fits the mold that the Wisconsin football staff has been dying to acquire along the defensive line. The Badgers have struggled to generate much of any production along the defensive line over the past two seasons. Moving forward, however, the staff has put an emphasis on snagging the right talent and commitments to fill out the room.
