Taylor Brown, one of the WVU football program’s top recruits, officially signed his national letter of intent on December’s National Signing Day.
Brown (6-foot-3, 250 pounds) attends Dr. Henry Wise High School in Upper Marlboro, Md. He ended up picking West Virginia over offers from Buffalo, JMU, Marshall, Memphis, Pitt, Temple among others.
Most recruiting analysts love Brown’s size and his ability to use his hands to win one-on-one battles with opposing linemen. His strength and stamina also make him an imposing force to recognized with up front.
Brown fits the bill as someone who can be versatile, something the WVU coaching staff loves to find or cultivate in players. Even though Brown has mostly been under the radar as far as national attention, it’s easy to understand why West Virginia would be interested in him. It’s very possible Brown could be a diamond in the rough find for the Mountaineers.
247 Sports has Brown ranked as a four-star prospect, the No. 4 player Maryland and the No. 16 defensive lineman in his class in the country.
Brown committed to West Virginia on June 6.
