The West Virginia women’s basketball team is set to take on the Duke Blue Devils in a non-conference battle on Nov. 14 at the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.

This matchup marks just the second women’s game ever to be played at the location. WVU and Duke have faced off just two times before, with the Blue Devils leading the all-time series 2-0.

Duke won the last game between the programs 84-70 in the 1996 season.

WVU was just one win away this past season from playing Duke in the Sweet 16, but ultimately fell short to the UNC Tar Heels. The Mountaineers defeated Columbia in the first round, capping off a 25-8 finish in 2024-25.

With star point guard JJ Quinerly leaving for the WNBA, guards Jordan Harrison and Sydney Shaw will have increased roles in 2025. WVU finished with 25 wins in back-to-back seasons and has not had a losing record since 2005-06.

Duke defeated Lehigh, Oregon, and UNC before losing in the Elite 8 to South Carolina. The Blue Devils won the ACC title last season and finished with an overall record of 29-8.

Head coach Kara Lawson will look to lead Duke to its fifth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance next season.
