Well, it looks like WWE Premium Live Events will be moving to ESPN DTC much sooner than expected. WWE made a big announcement on Wednesday via their official X account — WWE’s next PLE, Wrestlepalooza, is coming to ESPN instead of Peacock. So that means that Clash in Paris on Sunday, August 31, will be the last PLE to stream on Peacock.

The move from Peacock to ESPN is quicker than the original time of early 2026. The DTC streaming service and a “set of new features” will launch on an enhanced ESPN App on Thursday, August 21. Triple H has commented about the move via a press release:
“On September 20, WWE and ESPN are coming together for a can’t-miss event to kick off our new partnership. The biggest Superstars in WWE. The biggest brand in sports media. Are you ready?”
Wrestling Observer Radio’s Bryan Alvarez on Wednesday also shared an update about the move, noting that it was quicker due to WWE fulfilling its PLEs quota for Peacock with the help of Evolution and the second night of SummerSlam.
As noted, it was on August 6 when ESPN and WWE first announced that the WWE PLEs were leaving Peacock and going to stream on ESPN’s new direct-to-consumer (DTC) service.
It’s also worth mentioning that WWE has finally confirmed that they were indeed going to have a PLE during AEW’s All Out pay-per-view. Both events are slated for September 20. There has been speculation for weeks now. This event marks the first time that a WWE main roster PLE will be on the same day as an AEW pay-per-view.
Per the press release from ESPN, John Cena is expected to headline the main event at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. It’s been rumored that Cena will be facing Brock Lesnar.
WWE is also touting that Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, and WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch will be on the card for the event. Tickets for Wrestlepaloozaare set to go on sale starting Friday, August 22. The name of the upcoming event comes from an old ECW event.
So WWE fans should be prepared to pay $29.99 a month instead of less than $20. Those who are subscribed to ESPN via any traditional TV provider just have to sign in to the ESPN app, and then they will have full access to everything available, including the WWE PLEs. The WWE Archives are currently licensed to Peacock through March 2026. So it's the end of an era. First, it was WWE Network, then Peacock, and now ESPN.
