2025 Player Of The Year: Who Brings It Home?

The 2025 PGA Tour season for the world No. 1 in Scottie Scheffler, has been electric to say the least. Scheffler was able to put together a six season win, after signing his final score card in 2025 at the Hero World Challenge. Able to finish in a two way tie for fourth place with J.J. Spaun, a partner of his at the Ryder Cup as well. His biggest victory came in his performance at the Open Championship, walking away victorious after a rather rough start in the opening rounds. The only thing that seems to be up for question with the veteran, is what are now the next steps and 2026 personal goals. 

Still Work To Be Done

Scheffler is arguably the greatest to ever play the sport, with many of the big names before him in agreement giving him that stamp. Falling a bit short in his final tournament of the year brought frustration, but also clarity in the progression being made. 

“Did a lot of good things,” Scheffler said. “I definitely felt like some of the stuff I’ve been working on the last few weeks, I saw some progress here, and the stuff I was focused on in the offseason, definitely saw some progress here as well. Good place to be.”

A much anticipated off-season for Scheffler and his camp will be important in another hopeful dominant run. His skillset is one many never put into question, but something he knows can still be polished and practiced. One of the main reasons outside of his own personal wanting, the realization of top tier talent. That talent is really seen in one individual, Rory McIlroy who was a part of the winning Europe team at the 2025 Ryder Cup. The two are the clear leaders of the Tour, and interestingly enough in competition for the PGA Tour Player of the Year Award.
