The Masters are finally underway at Augusta National, which means it's time for Amanda Balionis to shine.
Balionis has been the top golf reporter for CBS Sports since joining the network in 2017. Before she became a household name on the PGA Tour, she had stints with Verizon Fios Channel 1 and MSG Network among others.
“From 2009 to 2011, she served as a reporter for high school sports at MSG Network, including providing color commentary for the network’s coverage of high school volleyball. Balionis joined the PGA TOUR as in-house reporter and host in 2011, producing and reporting tournament highlights and events,” her bio for Paramount states. “Active in her community, Balionis is the founder of the 501c3 nonprofit Puppies & Golf which raises awareness for animal rescues around the country and supports families in need as well as organizations like K9s for Warriors.”
Prior to Thursday's opening round at Augusta National, the talented sideline reporter for CBS shared a look at her "Masters Eve" outfit.
Balionis went with an all-green dress to celebrate the start of the most prestigious tournament the game of golf has to offer.
"Happy Masters Eve," she wrote on her Instagram Story.
Rory McIlroy sat down for a one-on-one interview with Balionis after he won the Masters last April. He was pretty honest about what competing the career Grand Slam meant to him.
"I don’t think I realized how much that burden had built up year after year, coming back trying to complete the slam. All the narrative and the noise that comes along with that each and every Masters," McIlroy told Balionis. "Feeling you’re the center of attention and feeling like people are saying ‘this is going to be you’re year, you’re going to get it done’, and every year that goes by it doesn’t happen…so all that pressure, it builds up and then I think just that release valve, it was just pure relief."
Coverage of the 2026 Masters will shift over to Paramount+ and CBS starting on Saturday, so fans should expect to see Balionis interviewing the top performers fairly soon.
