Is Tiger Woods playing in the Masters this year? Fans think so based on something that popped up online this week.
Woods’ page on the Masters’ official website was quietly updated recently. The first sentence claims that Woods “is making his 27th Masters start in 2026.”

It’s not clear if the update should be read into at all, but enough people bought it that it once again sparked speculation about Woods’ Masters status. The legendary golfer has not played in a tournament since the 2024 Open Championship, but he has refused to completely rule out taking part in next month’s Masters.
Woods had disk replacement surgery on his lower back roughly five months ago. He also suffered an Achilles tear roughly a year ago, though that might not be as significant a problem at this point. Needless to say, it would be remarkable for him to come back from all that and play in a major tournament at age 50.
Woods last took part in the Masters in 2024. He finished 60th with a score of +16.
