Hannah Green Is Done Waiting for the Spotlight

Not Just Winning, but Repeating

What I like about Green’s current run is that it is not built on one hot week. She keeps showing up in meaningful events and finding a way to stay there. Her latest win in Los Angeles came after a week that had plenty of twists, including Kim’s massive lead evaporating and a playoff that demanded composure at the very end. Green handled all of it without forcing the moment.

That is a real separator in golf. Plenty of players can look brilliant when everything is flowing. The elite ones keep their footing when the whole tournament starts to wobble. Green did that again, and it is a big reason why this stretch feels sustainable instead of fleeting.

Chevron Comes at the Right Time

Green said this week she is heading into the Chevron Championship with perhaps as much confidence in her game as she has had all year. When a player says that right before the first major of the season, it gets your attention. When that same player already has four wins in 2026, it means even more.

And this is where the conversation really changes. Green is not just a nice contender to mention in the middle of a major preview. She is one of the players the week can be built around. Jeeno Thitikul may be No. 1 in the world. Nelly Korda may still carry the biggest presence. But Green has earned a place in that upper tier of names people need to take seriously right now.

Time to Frame Her Differently

Some players live comfortably just outside the spotlight. Green has played too well for that framing now. A major champion with four wins before April is over does not need to be introduced as a sleeper, a dark horse or a sneaky pick. She needs to be described for what she is at the moment: one of the hottest players in golf.
