Cameron Young will look to close out The Masters on Sunday.
The 28-year-old American golfer is tied for the lead with the 2025 champion, Rory McIlroy, at -11. The final group of the tournament will tee off at 2:25 p.m. E.T. on Sunday. The final round will air on CBS.
Young, like all professional golfers, has a lot of sponsors. One of them is fairly unusual, though. He's sponsored by Major League Baseball. It's pretty rare to see another sports league sponsoring an athlete in a different sport.
But Young has a personal connection.
Young's father has a close relationship with Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred.
"Young’s father was the head pro at Sleepy Hollow Country Club in New York. One of its members: MLB commissioner Rob Manfred. Young said that Manfred, who’s also a member at Augusta National, took the family out to dinner when he turned pro and asked if he’d wear an MLB patch. Young agreed, and has been sponsored by MLB ever since," Front Office Sports reported.
Young, his wife and three children have been hitting the road together throughout the PGA Tour season.
He's hoping that closeness will pay off on Sunday.
"I don't know if it's directly helpful, but the biggest thing for me is the fact that it's great to have them out on the road with me," Young stated on Saturday.
"I love going home and seeing everybody after whatever day it is. I'd rather go home and see them after a great day, but just having them out on the road is awesome for me. I love having them out and being able to have a more normal job.
"Instead of saying goodbye for three weeks or four weeks, whatever it is, I go work a long day, but I was with them this morning, and I will see them tonight. It's nice doing that.
"Things definitely can be stressful at times, but they're very, very different parts of life for me."
The final round is airing on CBS.
