Jim Nantz Responds To Backlash Over CBS's Masters Broadcast

Legendary broadcaster Jim Nantz is well aware of the criticism CBS is receiving for its coverage of the 2026 Masters.

Kevin Kisner of the PGA Tour ripped CBS for missing live action throughout the final round of the Masters on Sunday. He unleashed a rant about CBS during the latest episode of the "Foreplay" podcast.

"They were literally showing s--- that I knew happened 10 minutes ago all day long," Kisner said, via the New York Post. "What are we doing? You have no commercials. Play live shots. Our production team at NBC prides themselves at showing every shot that they possibly can live… And when we don’t, we have to say, ‘a moment ago,’ because we are trying to make the whole movie make sense."

Golf fans also criticized CBS' camera crew for losing approach shots from Rory McIlroy and Cam Young on the final hole. The 18th hole ended up producing a nightmare sequence for the network, as McIlroy's final putt to win the Masters was basically shielded by his backside.

Not backing down from critics.

During an appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" this Tuesday, Nantz raved about his CBS colleagues. He also said he was proud of the network's coverage of the 2026 Masters.

"It's live television - we all make mistakes," Nantz said. "I'm really proud of our crew. They're making so many split-second decisions. There are hundreds of people involved over the course of those four days. I just know our crew is the best in the business. Our crew is nominated for an Emmy Award next month. ... I just walk away from the Masters with more memories and a lot of pride for what everybody did."

Nantz is a team player, so we didn't expect him to bash CBS during an interview with a rival network.

Make no mistake though, golf fans aren't buying Nantz's remarks this Tuesday.
