The more Scottie Scheffler keeps winning, the more people draw parallels between his dominance and what Tiger Woods did during his prime years.
Scheffler has been in a class of his own over the past two seasons on the PGA Tour. Outside of Woods, no one else in recent history has maintained such a high standard for this long.

The talk really picked up after Scheffler’s win at The Open Championship at Royal Portrush in July. He now has 17 PGA Tour wins and four majors since February 2022, including a recent win at the BMW Championship.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the Tour Championship this week, he spoke about how intense Woods was during their only round together at the 2020 Masters.
But if he keeps going at this pace, there’s every chance he’ll be mentioned alongside Woods in another decade or so.
Johnson Wagner, a former PGA Tour player who is now an analyst on TV, spoke about what Scottie Scheffler has been doing this season.
Scheffler brushed off comparisons with Tiger Woods, calling them “silly,” and Wagner gave his take while talking to SIRIUSXM PGA TOUR Radio.
He noted that the world number one’s lead in the rankings is so large that there really isn’t anyone else to compare him to other than Tiger. But for now, he said that it’s hard for him to see anyone reaching Woods’ total numbers.
He continued: “Maybe he doesn’t like the comparison but the statistical anomalies of his ball-striking numbers, the only person you can compare those to is Tiger in 2000 and Tiger in 2005.”
Tiger Woods stands alone in the sport with a career that few players even come close to matching.
And while Scottie Scheffler still has a long way to go, there are signs he could at least narrow the gap one day.
If Scheffler were to average four PGA Tour wins per year over the next 15 years and add a major every other year, he’d be right in the mix statistically.
That’s easier said than done, of course. But if anyone has shown they can handle that kind of consistency, it’s him.
