The 2025 Ryder Cup saw several European players step up with standout performances.

Tommy Fleetwood, Rory McIlroy, Tyrrell Hatton and Jon Rahm each put up more than three points.

Less experienced players like Robert MacIntyre and Ludvig Aberg also made significant contributions at Bethpage Black.

Now, Johnson Wagner has given his thoughts on which European player he expects to carry that momentum into the 2026 PGA Tour season.

Wagner has tipped Robert MacIntyre for a strong 2026, citing his recent progress over the past few seasons.

MacIntyre picked up wins at the Canadian Open and Scottish Open in 2024, and added the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship to his list of titles last month.

The Scot has now climbed to seventh in the Official World Golf Ranking, a rise that reflects how far he has come.

Wagner believes MacIntyre will join the next majors as one of the contenders, and expects him to add more trophies to his tally next season.

“I think it’s Robert MacIntyre. I love this guy. He has won twice on the PGA Tour.

“He won his native open, the Scottish Open. The way he played, he nearly won the US Open at Oakmont this year.

“I just think, with the way he plays, the fire that he plays with, and the desire that he has, I see him contending at majors and winning multiple times.”

Ludvig Aberg tipped to outshine Robert MacIntyre in 2026 by Brendon de Jonge

Former PGA Tour player Brandon de Jonge was not on the same page as Wagner when it came to picking the European Ryder Cup player with the brightest future.

Instead of MacIntyre, De Jonge went with Ludvig Aberg as the one he expects to make a bigger impact in 2026.

“I think it’s Aberg. This guy came out all guns blazing. He kind of took a step back this year. I’d say he took a big step back.

“He just needs to clean things up a little bit. I’d look out for Aberg to pick off a major next year.”

Aberg’s 2025 did not live up to expectations, so it would not be surprising if his breakthrough comes a year later than many had anticipated.
