Thursday’s opening round at the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village provided plenty of drama, but it wasn’t solely the usual contenders making headlines.
Midway through his second shot on the par-5 fifth hole, three-time major champion Jordan Spieth found himself battling thick rough just off the fairway.
The broadcast cut to Spieth and his caddie, Michael Greller, weighing their options before Spieth, after a long pause, muscled a precise pitch onto the fairway.
The clip, posted by the PGA Tour on X soon after, carried the caption, "We’ve all been there, Jordan," and has since racked up thousands of views and fan reactions.

One fan commented on the post saying, "I live there . Stay strong."
"Sad truth, lol," replied another fan.
"We don't praise Greller enough for the work he is doing," commented one other user, referring to Spieth's caddie.
Another commenter responded, "Jordan is always there."
"I feel like Jordan lives there lately," one other user replied.
Another fan said, "His game is a mystery."
Spieth would go on to post an even-par 72 for the round.
Spieth burst onto the PGA Tour scene in 2013 with a victory at the John Deere Classic. Since then, he has notched 13 PGA Tour titles, including three major championships: the 2015 Masters Tournament, the 2015 U.S. Open and the 2017 Open Championship.
Following the Memorial, the Tour moves north to Canada for the RBC Canadian Open (June 5-8), before players gear up for the U.S. Open at Oahmont Country Club (June 19-22).
Through the first dozen events of the 2025 season, World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler leads the FedEx Cup standings with 2,801 points, followed closely by Rory McIlroy with 2,666 points. Sepp Straka sits third at 2,129 points.
