Former LSU golf great Ingrid Lindblad is now an LPGA Champion.

Lindblad wrapped up the final round of the JM Eagle LA Championship with an impressive score of 4-under 68. Having concluded a remarkable record-setting career at LSU in 2024, where she garnered nearly every prestigious award possible, Lindblad fought off several late challenges to secure a single stroke over fellow LPGA rookie Akie Iwai.

After the match in her post match press conference, the Swedish sensation talked about her idol Annika Sorenstam and winning a tournament they now have both won. She said, “I think what she did when she was out on tour was pretty incredible…So following her footsteps, that’s pretty big!”

Ingrid talked more about the success of Swedish golfers on the LPGA tour. She said, “I think it’s great and I think it’s even better that we’re up there and winning. It shows we’ve done something right in junior golf through college golf and then following us to pro golf as well…I’m just happy to have a couple fellow Swedes out here playing good golf.”

The former LSU Tiger also had some fun answering a reporter’s question on what big purchase she may make with her newfound riches. Ingrid earned $562,500 with the victory. She said. “I was joking yesterday and said if I win, I was going to bump myself up to first class. But there are no seats left in first class tomorrow…I want to buy a new car but it’s not like my car is falling apart, so I might keep it for a couple more months.”
