The RBC Canadian Open is already in its second round on Friday, but the withdrawal list continues to grow longer. Another golfer has decided to exit the tournament before the final rounds.
Isaiah Salinda has chosen to forego his spot at the event during the second round. He played through 16 holes on Friday, finishing with a score of 4-over par after both rounds.
Salinda also withdrew from the Charles Schwab Challenge, which was the last tournament he played. There is no official statement from the PGA Tour regarding the reasons behind his abrupt exits.
Including him, thirteen golfers have chosen to withdraw from the event.
The competition thus far has produced an unexpected leader. Cameron Champ, who replaced Shahith Theegala, has claimed the top spot with a 12‑shot advantage. The last PGA Tour event he played was the Myrtle Beach Classic, where he carded rounds of 72‑72 and missed the cut.
Closely following him are Thorbjørn Olesen and Richard T. Lee, tied in second with a score of 9-under par.
Rory McIlroy had a tough start to the second round. In the first 9 holes, he has already shot one bogey and one quadruple bogey, taking his total score to 6-over par with 9 more holes to play.
Rory McIlroy opened up about where his head is at post Masters: “You have this event in your life that you've worked towards and it happens, sometimes it's hard to find the motivation to get back on the horse and go again.”

“You have this event in your life that you've worked towards and it happens, sometimes it's hard to find the motivation to get back on the horse and go again,” McIlroy said after his underwhelming first round.
