Ben Griffin has been handed his first Ryder Cup appearance after being named one of Keegan Bradley’s captain’s picks for the USA team.
Griffin, who was not expected to be part of the squad for Bethpage Black, will now make his debut as one of the six picks made by Bradley.
The selection finalises the American side, following the automatic qualification of six players earlier in the year.
Among those already on the team are Scottie Scheffler and Bryson DeChambeau, who will take on Europe when they arrive in New York next month.
Bradley announced his picks before Luke Donald, with the European captain set to reveal his selections on Monday.
After Keegan Bradley announced his picks for the Ryder Cup, including the decision not to choose himself, Phil Mickelson was quick to show his support.
Mickelson has since commented again, this time focusing on Griffin’s inclusion in the squad.
congratulations. You’re an inspiration.

After being called up, Griffin posted on X: “Four years ago I wanted to give up the game forever. I have the strongest team around me who brought me back, and now I’m going to give it all to help this team win at Bethpage.”
LIV Golf’s Mickelson responded with clapping emojis and a simple message: “Congratulations. You’re an inspiration.”
Griffin had a busy 2025 PGA Tour campaign, and Bradley saw plenty of him throughout the season.
The 29-year-old played in 28 events this year, picking up two victories along the way.
Both wins came at the Charles Schwab Challenge and the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, marking his first two career titles on the PGA Tour.
