Phil Mickelson shared a blunt message on Sunday after Scottie Scheffler ran away with the PGA Championship.

Scheffler on Sunday shot a 71 at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte to finish the major at 11-under, which was five shots better than anyone else. The win gave Scheffler his first PGA Championship and third major win overall.

After the event, Mickelson shared an immediate reaction via X.

That’s right. Scheffler is No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking and proved at Quail Hollow that he is the best in the world.

The 28-year-old from Dallas has only had two majors since 2023 where he did not finish in the top 10. He finished in the top five in half of those 10 majors. He also has 15 career PGA Tour wins, all of which have come since 2022.

Scheffler still has lots of work to do to catch up with someone like Mickelson, who has won six majors, including the PGA Championship in 2021. But Mickelson is right — it’s very clear who the No. 1 golfer in the world is.
