Rory McIlroy’s busy run on the DP World Tour has continued, this time at the DP World India Championship.
McIlroy was thought to have an advantage going into the event, but it did not quite pan out as he finished in a tie for 26th place.
The Northern Irishman wrapped up his week at Delhi Golf Club at 11-under, trailing Tommy Fleetwood by 11 shots.
Fleetwood secured a two-shot victory following a powerful finish, while Keita Nakajima ended up in second place.
The DP World Tour now moves on to Korea, but neither McIlroy nor Fleetwood is expected to feature in that event.
Despite not being in the field for the Korea Championship, the two players have already been connected for another event early next year.
The DP World Tour website has listed McIlroy to kick off his 2026 campaign at the Dubai Invitational, held at Dubai Creek Resort.
Looking ahead to his return to Dubai, the Northern Irishman said: “I’m excited to be starting my year in Dubai. The UAE is a place where I’ve enjoyed a lot of great weeks, and I’m sure this will be no different.
“Dubai Creek Resort was a fantastic host venue two years ago, and Abdulla (Tournament Host Abdulla Al Naboodah) and his team put on an incredible event.
“I came very close to winning that week, so I’m hoping 2026 will be another really good year for me – and to start strong in the Middle East would be the perfect way to get it underway.”
Fleetwood is also confirmed for the event. He took home a one-shot win over McIlroy and Thriston Lawrence there back in 2024.
After his win in Delhi, Fleetwood added the DP World Tour playoffs to his calendar, having moved up significantly in the Race to Dubai rankings.
He currently sits 25th in the standings, while Ryder Cup teammate McIlroy holds the top spot.
The two players have only featured in nine DP World Tour events this year, which makes their performances even more notable, especially for McIlroy at the top.
The Northern Irishman secured the Irish Open title in addition to his three PGA Tour victories.

McIlroy also played a big part in helping Europe secure another Ryder Cup win over the USA, despite facing heavy criticism from American fans at Bethpage Black.
Fleetwood had a standout season too. He led the points list at Bethpage Black and secured his first PGA Tour title at the Tour Championship.
