Rory McIlroy's rollercoaster of a season finally ended in victory on Sunday when he sank a pivotal 18th-hole putt to top Robert MacIntyre and win the Genesis Scottish Open.
The win -- his first since the CJ Cup last October -- helped him leapfrog Jon Rahm and take over the No. 2 spot in the official world golf ranking, just in time for him to head to Royal Liverpool and compete in the Open Championship.
As of last week, the Irishman was the favorite to win the Open, an event he narrowly missed out on winning last year. But did his victory at the Renaissance Club this past weekend impact his odds of winning?

While McIlroy was previously the favorite to win the Open Championship, he is now listed second at DraftKings at 15-2 odds.
The new favorite? That would be world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who is listed at 7-1 to be victorious next weekend.
Perhaps it's no surprise that oddsmakers are favoring someone else given that McIlroy is coming off of an emotional first win of the season. It doesn't hurt that Scheffler's worst finish of the season was a T12 at the Genesis Invitational back in February -- or that he has finished in the top five in each of his last seven starts.
Scottie Scheffler's last finish worse than T-12 happened during Week 7 of the 2022 NFL season.
