Rory McIlroy, wife Erica Stoll share moment together after Masters win

Rory McIlroy won the first Masters of his career on Sunday, and his wife Erica Stoll was there to witness the occasion.

McIlroy survived a complete roller coaster of a final round at Augusta National Golf Club to win the tournament in a playoff against Justin Rose. McIlroy entered the day with a two-shot lead over Bryson DeChambeau and started off with a double-bogey, which quickly brought back memories of his 2011 Masters collapse.

McIlroy made some timely shots, but his putter failed him again. He missed a short par putt on the 18th hole, which forced a playoff with Justin Rose. He did not come unraveled, however, and made a birdie on the first sudden-death hole to beat Rose.

McIlroy was extremely emotional after he beat Rose. He had tears streaming down his face as he hugged his wife Erica Stoll.

McIlroy and Stoll went through a rough patch in their marriage a year ago. A month after it was revealed that McIlroy had filed for divorce, the five-time major champion announced that he and Stoll had resolved their differences.

McIlroy and Stoll first met in 2012 and married in 2017. They share a daughter Poppy, who was born in 2020.

With the win, McIlroy is now just the sixth golfer in history to win all four majors and complete the career grand slam.
