The buzz around Scottie Scheffler at Augusta National has been confirmed. The world No. 1 golfer arrived for the Masters with a new addition to his family. He officially broke the news to reporters ahead of his practice round on Monday.
Although Scheffler usually keeps his private life away from the media, he revealed a few details about his son.
“Yeah, yeah, we had another boy a couple weeks ago and, um, yeah, it’s been really nice, it’s fun. I’m really glad they’re able to travel with me this week. And, you know, my wife is a trooper, brought the boys this week,” Scheffler stated while answering reporters’ questions during an interview.

As fans may know, Scheffler withdrew from the Texas Children’s Hospital Houston Open for family reasons, following which he welcomed his son with his wife, Meredith. Interestingly, Scheffler hadn’t spoken about the couple expecting another child, but Meredith’s baby bump had led to plenty of social media speculation.
Regardless, little Remy will be attending the Masters just days after being born, an opportunity many people don’t receive. Similarly, his older brother, Bennett, who was born right before the 2024 PGA Championship, attended the Masters at just nine days old as well. This time, the brothers will be watching Scheffler make an attempt at the Masters once again.
But before he does so, he has one more bit of insight to drop about baby Remy.
Well, there’s no reason apart from the most important one, as Scheffler revealed. “We just liked it. We didn’t have very many good boy names, to be honest with you.”
