Scottie Scheffler is still coming to terms with his latest accolade after being named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people.

Speaking at the RBC Heritage, the world number one admitted he hadn’t reached a verdit. “I don’t really know to be honest with you,” he said after the first round.

“I don’t really know essentially what that what that means. So, I don’t know,” Scottie Schfeller said during the media interaction.

Scottie Scheffler came into the RBC Heritage looking to bounce back after competing at Augusta National. While he surged to T2 at Augusta he fell short of beating defeding champion Rory McIlroy.

Speaking about the Times 100 inclusion, which had a tribute written by his good frined and former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, Scheffeler revealed that he wasn’t even aware of Romo’s writeup.

Scheffler also believes it is his duty to be a positive influence on future generations.”I’d much rather try to be a positive influence than a negative one,” he added.

Staying Grounded Amidst Global Recognition

Even as the world’s number one, he is apprehensive about being an influential figure and wonders whether he himself is a role model. He values genuine behavior over the polished persona expected of those in such high regard.

Scheffler expressed his vision of a leader: “I think if you do things the right way, and I feel like I can have some sort of influence over people.” His character is intact.

His perception of influence stems from his ambition in youth to reach the professional level, reflecting on his journey from the practice green to the professional ranks.

In the end, he sees his influence as a tool for bringing about change rather than seeking recognition. He remarked, “If I can be a positive influence on someone’s life, that’s a great thing.”
