SEC Network Analyst Makes Wild Accusation About Big Ten Football

It's no secret SEC Network analyst Peter Burns doesn't like the Big Ten. That being said, he unleashed his biggest insult this week.

Burns joined SEC Network in August 2014 after spending time hosting a show for Mile High Sports Radio in Denver. He was also on Fox Sports Radio for five years. Clearly, ESPN liked what they saw from his previous work.

When Burns isn't talking about college football, he's helping ESPN out as a course reporter for the SEC Men’s and Women’s Golf Tournaments.

"Burns hosts SEC Now both in-studio and on the road, traveling around the SEC to cover live events across all sports. In the 2017-18 collegiate season alone, Burns traveled to host SEC Now at the NCAA Men’s and Women’s College World Series, SEC Baseball and Women’s Basketball Tournaments and originated the network’s coverage from Starkville as Mississippi State marched to the NCAA Women’s Final Four. Burns also served as a roving reporter for SEC Network at the SEC Championship Game and College Football Playoff National Championship, and hosted SEC Network’s Pro Day shows live from Alabama and Georgia, respectively," ESPN's bio for Burns states

SEC fans have grown to love Burns over the years. Obviously, we can't say the same thing about Big Ten fans.

During this year's SEC spring meetings, Burns accused the Big Ten of being nothing more than a Ponzi scheme.

We're not kidding.

"The Big 10 is quiet because they understand over half of their league is hot garbage and only prop up the small amount of true quality contenders they have," Burns wrote on social media. "They run a highly successful CFB Ponzi scheme."

Burns might be correct about the Big Ten propping up Ohio State and Michigan over other programs, but every conference is guilty of doing that. Are we supposed to believe the SEC hasn't propped up Alabama over the past decade?

Besides, the last two national champions have come from the Big Ten. It's tough to dunk on the conference when it's hoisting trophies.
