The PGA Tour's five most disappointing players of 2026

Koepka left LIV Golf for the PGA Tour in 2026 because he wanted to compete against the best golfers in the world more often, but his return didn't go as planned. Despite finishing T18 or better in six of his first 11 starts, Koepka faltered down the stretch and finished 94th in the final FedEx Cup standings. 

The worst part for Koepka was his performances in major championships. The five-time major champion finished T12 at the Masters, T55 at the PGA Championship, T27 at the Open Championship and missed the cut at the U.S. Open. Koepka, who only cares about winning the biggest events, didn't contend for a win once in 2026. 

2. Shane Lowry

Lowry got off to a strong start in 2026, but his hot streak came to a crashing halt when he plunked two balls in the water and blew a three-shot lead with three holes to play at the Cognizant Classic. In 15 starts since that choke job, he missed the cut five times and didn't finish better than T22. 

The Irishman finished the year with only two top-20s on the PGA Tour, the lowest mark of his career for a single season. As he closes in on the age of 40, Lowry might be on the back side of his career. 

1. Jordan Spieth

The version of Spieth that consistently created magic on the golf course, hit clutch shots every time he needed to and contended in seemingly every major championship is long gone. The three-time major champion hasn't won a golf tournament since the 2022 RBC Heritage, and he's failed to qualify for the Tour Championship in three consecutive seasons.

In 2026, Spieth didn't record a single top-10 finish in 22 starts. He ranked 130th on Tour in proximity to the hole, 133rd in approaches from more than 100 yards, 93rd in total putting and 77th in scoring average. 

It's tough to admit, but Spieth is nothing more than a mediocre PGA Tour player at this point in his career.
