Shane Lowry struggled during the third round of the 2024 Open Championship. He fired a poor 6-over-77 at Royal Troon. Lowry started the day with a two-shot lead but soon fell behind, and finished 11 holes at 7-over par without hitting a single birdie.
Shane Lowry expressed irritation after losing the lead to Billy Horschel . The torrid weather, which included wind and rain, exacerbated his challenges. Lowry voiced dissatisfaction with the course layout, asking why the tees were not pushed forward.
It was a grind. Wasn't much fun...You'd have to question why there wasn't a couple of tees pulled forward today, to be honest. You know, I think 15 and 17, like 15, 500 yards playing into that wind it's, you know, yead. They keep trying to make holes longer yet but the best hole in this course a hundred yards. So, yeah.
