Golf fans have tuned in to watch Tiger Woods and some of the best players on the planet in the new TGL indoor golf league. Woods has been joined by big names like Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, Rickie Fowler and Justin Thomas during the events, but it may be time to see the all-time great back on the real course.

The Genesis Invitational is next week, and Woods has announced his intention regarding his commitment to playing in it.

The tournament says that Woods will be in the field for the event, held at Torrey Pines in California, near San Diego.

The tournament helps Woods' foundation raise money, which communities in and around Los Angeles desperately need in their rebuild efforts.

The Genesis is usually played at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, but was forced to move to San Diego because of the fires in the area.

Thousands of homes, businesses and other significant structures were lost in the fires, and many people either lost their lives or ended up severely injured as a result.

Woods is also dealing with recent personal tragedy, as his mother Kultida Woods, who passed away Tuesday. She was 80 years old, and Woods is scheduled to compete only nine days after her death.

In addition to TGL, Woods is also a regular participant in the PNC Championship in Orlando with his son Charlie.

Woods' last time playing on the PGA Tour was during last year's Open Championship, where he missed the cut. It's been a difficult resurgence for Tiger, who won is last major in dramatic fashion way back at the 2019 Masters.

Woods has been through a lot since then, and it does appear that his days of winning major events are behind him. That still won't stop fans from enjoying arguably the greatest of all time for what he's able to give them in events like the Genesis Invitational.

Tiger will now look to continue his shortened schedule, playing important events like the Masters, US Open and The Open Championship during these last few years of his legendary career.

We'll see what the long-term future holds, but for next week, fans can tune in to watch Tiger compete at the Genesis Invitational on ESPN+ and the Golf Channel.
