It has been a little more than a month since the passing of Kutilda Woods, the mother of PGA star Tiger Woods, who was 80 when she died. The news has hit Tiger Woods hard, as he has all but avoided hitting the links in the weeks since.

Woods, an 82-time winner of PGA Tour events, said of his mother at the time of her death in a social media post:

“My mom was a force of nature all her own, her spirit was simply undeniable. ... She was quick with the needle and a laugh. She was my biggest fan, greatest supporter, without her none of my personal achievements would have been possible.”

While Woods' achievements are well-known, there is still some question about whether the star golfer can get back into action and have a productive season after injuries have sapped him in recent years.

Woods' 82 career wins are tied with Sam Snead for the all-time record. But Woods has not recorded a tournament win since 2019. He played injust five tournaments in 2024, and missed the cut three times, while withdrawing from another. He finished the Masters but placed 60th.

His last Top 20 finish came at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas in 2023, when he recorded an even-par to finish 18th months after ankle surgery, but that was out of just 20 golfers.

As for fans' hopes of seeing Woods make another push for a PGA win here at age 49, well, he delivered some bad news on that front. If it happens, it won't be soon.

As the TWLegion site reported: "Last night, Tiger Woods was asked about his schedule and if he’s getting ready for Florida events. Doesn’t sound promising at the moment…"

“Not really," Woods said. "This is the third time I've touched a club since my mom passed, so I haven't really gotten into it. My heart is not really into practicing right now. I've had so many other things to do with the TOUR and trying to do other things. Once I start probably feeling a little bit better and start getting into it, I'll start looking at the schedule.”
