Tiger Woods officially entered a plea of not guilty in his DUI case in Florida on Tuesday, March 31.
TMZ Sports' Michael J. Babcock reported on Tuesday afternoon, shortly after 4 p.m. E.T., that Woods had officially plead not-guilty to DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test. Woods, 50, was arrested in Florida on Friday.
The 15-time major champion was involved in a rollover car accident. Woods, who was weeks away from a potential return at The Masters, allegedly rolled over his Land Rover SUV while driving fast behind a utility truck in a residential area. Woods and the other driver emerged from the accident unharmed.
Woods appeared under the influence at the scene of the crash, according to local police in Florida. Woods blamed his cell phone and car radio for distracting him.
“Mr. Woods did exemplify the signs of impairment,” Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek.
“At the Martin County jail, and even on scene, we really weren’t suspicious of alcohol being involving in this case, and that proved to be true at the jail. So, Mr. Woods did a Breathalyzer test, blew triple zeroes.”
Woods, who was involved in a serious car accident in California in 2021, was also arrested for DUI in Florida in 2017. He reportedly had five drugs in his system at the time of the arrest, according to police.
The legendary PGA Tour star allegedly had pills on him at the time of Friday's arrest, too.
Woods allegedly had some controlled substances in his pocket at the time of his arrest in Jupiter Island, Florida.
"Tiger Woods had two loose hydrocodone pills in his pocket when he was arrested for DUI Friday afternoon, according to law enforcement. Woods told authorities he was messing with his stereo and phone, and that’s why he crashed," TMZ Sports added earlier on Tuesday morning.
