The golf world has waited in anticipation for weeks for the actual return of Tiger Woods. Although TGL has given some glimpses of the GOAT, we have yet to receive a formal announcement on when he will return, especially after the news that he would not compete at THE PLAYERS this week. Unfortunately, some have begun to believe we may never see him again on the PGA Tour.
Early this afternoon, golf enthusiasts and Tiger Woods fans around the world felt a pit in their stomachs. The 15-time major champion announced on X that while practicing, he had ruptured his Achilles tendon and underwent surgical repair today.
As I began to ramp up my own training and practice at home, I felt a sharp pain in my left Achilles, which was deemed to be ruptured.

It doesn't get tougher than this. The man has already given so much to the game and has persevered through everything to compete at a high level again.
I really don't know what to say. It's just heartbreaking for anyone who grew up playing and watching Tiger Woods in his prime. The road has definitely been bumpy, but his perseverance is admirable. However, we have reached a point where it's not unreasonable to think that this might truly be the end of the road for him in golf.
My best wishes to Tiger and his recovery. The game is always better when Tiger is present, and we were beginning to see a different side of the competitive animal in recent months—a much lighter and easier-going version of the great. It was fun to see, but now, once again, we are forced to sit back and wait, and hope.
