The 2025 Travelers Championship is underway at TPC River Highlands, with some of the biggest names in golf battling it out in the final Signature Event of the PGA Tour season. As the weekend tees off, a stacked leaderboard features World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas, and Tommy Fleetwood, all tied at nine-under. Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy sits just four shots back at T9, hoping to make a late charge after recovering from a rocky second round.

But beyond the competition, it’s the purse that has players fired up this week. With $20 million on the line, the Travelers Championship continues its tradition as one of the PGA Tour's most lucrative events.

Introduced to keep top stars loyal to the PGA amid the LIV Golf threat, Signature Events like this guarantee no cuts and fat paydays.

This year’s winner will walk away with a massive $3.6 million, a reward for conquering one of the most competitive fields in golf. Second place grabs $2.16 million, while third nets $1.36 million. If the second position is tied by two, each will get $1.76 million.

Even finishing 10th will earn a cool $540,000, and the player in last place will still pocket $36,000.

Forty-five of the top 50 golfers in the world are in action this week, showing just how serious this event is. J.J. Spaun, fresh off a life-changing U.S. Open win, is also in the field alongside big names like Xander Schauffele, Viktor Hovland, and Keegan Bradley. The Travelers is not just a stop on the schedule, t’s a proving ground.

With stakes this high, the weekend promises drama, dollars, and potentially a defining win for whoever emerges on top.
