Tommy Fleetwood isn’t the only one in his family facing a challenge at Augusta. His eight-year-old son, Frankie, has a yearly quest that has captured the hearts of golf fans. He’s trying to clear Ike’s Pond, and he’s more determined than ever.

It’s been another year of practice and preparation for the 8-year-old. His father, World No.4 Tommy Fleetwood, made his thoughts clear.

“Yeah, it’s a big talking point in our house. I’m unconvinced that he can carry it. He’s, you know, obviously very positive. He thinks, you know, he can.”

That’s when an old video of young Frankie made the rounds on social media once again. “Well I’ve been doing my hardest to get it over the green. I’ve been practicing as hard as I can, just not reaching it this year but I’m just trying my hardest.”

Now the Masters is here, and Fleetwood will show up again to achieve his target. In 2024, he went viral as his shots drowned in Ike’s Pond. In 2025, he fell short again. And he followed that up with a proper interview, as if he were a veteran taking on Augusta National.

Frankie Fleetwood has become a media favorite, regardless of whether he makes the shot. Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry also had their fair share of laughter as Lowry commented on the young kid’s calm disposition. “Fleetwood’s having him on media training already!”

“As long as it’s a good shot. I am ok with it,” Tommy Fleetwood explained. The pride Fleetwood has in his son’s effort is clear.

Fleetwood now shifts his focus to competing in the Masters.

Tommy Fleetwood’s Form Heading Into the Masters

“I think I pride myself on trying to be as consistent as possible and play at a level that is competitive with the best players in the world, really,” Fleetwood said.
