Scottie Scheffler is going to play a massive role for the United States at Bethpage Black later this month, with Team USA aiming to win just their fourth Ryder Cup since 1999.

As the world’s top golfer by a significant margin, Scheffler will be crucial for the Americans at the Ryder Cup.

The Dallas native had an outstanding 2025 PGA Tour season, picking up five wins, including two majors.

Now he needs to do it again at Bethpage and lead from the front.

Keegan Bradley is expected to get everything he can out of his star player by finding him the right partner.

Russell Henley has been linked as a possible partner for Scheffler, but there are other names in the mix, and it is still unclear who will be lining up alongside him.

Scheffler’s game is so complete that he has a wide range of players he could partner with.

He was partnered with Bryson DeChambeau at Whistling Straits in 2021, before teaming up with Sam Burns and Brooks Koepka in Rome two years later.

Then at the Presidents Cup, he played alongside Henley and Collin Morikawa in 2024, having also been paired with Burns again back in 2022.

This week at the Procore Championship, there were a couple of interesting choices for his practice round partners.

He was spotted on the course at Silverado Resort playing alongside Russell Henley and US Open champion J.J. Spaun.

Ryder Cup vice-captain Gary Woodland joined them for the round and will no doubt report back to Keegan Bradley about what he observed.

How Scottie Scheffler has fared in the Ryder Cup so far

It is no secret that Scottie Scheffler’s Ryder Cup record is not exactly sparkling.

That narrative needs to change if Team USA are going to have a chance at Bethpage this month.

Here’s a look at how Scheffler has performed in the Ryder Cup:

Results Scheffler’s totals
Matches played 7
Wins 2
Losses 2
Halves 3
Total points won 3.5

One of the most accurate drivers on tour, Henley could set up opportunities for Scheffler, who is known for his iron play, to really impact matches.

The combination of Henley’s consistency and Scheffler’s ball-striking could give Team USA a reliable pairing across multiple sessions.
