Wrong Scott Stallings receives Masters invite

PGA Tour pro Scott Stallings waited for days for an invitation to the 2023 Masters that never came. On New Year's Day, he finally discovered why.

Pro golfer Stallings shared a screenshot of direct messages sent to him by another man named Scott Stallings. It turned out the invitation was sent to the wrong Stallings by accident.

The three-time PGA Tour winner tweeted that he "had been checking the mailbox five times a day" looking for his invitation.

The Stallings who received the invite by mistake told the PGA Tour vet, “I play but wow! Nowhere near your level. It’s a very nice package with everything needed to attend.”

The message came with a couple of images attached to show the “wrong” Stallings wasn’t pulling the golfer’s leg.

The pictures show an invitation to Augusta National Golf Club along with additional information about this year’s tournament (April 6-9).

Compounding the weirdness of this story, the wives of the Stallings golfers share the same given name,  Jennifer.
