The end of an era is upon the UCLA Bruins Gymnastics, as Jordan Chiles finished one of the most successful four-year runs in program history.
On April 21, Chiles finally took to Instagram to bid adieu to the UCLA Gymnastics team, sharing a message with fans and teammates on Instagram.
“Dear UCLA, where do I even begin, never thought I would be writing a farewell, but here I am crying while writing. You’ve taught me so much, coming in as a freshman and giving me the best 4 years of my life. I’ve learned so much about myself and becoming who I am today. Thank you to my teammates for giving me long-lasting friendships and memories.” Chiles wrote.
“To my coaches, words couldn’t describe how honored I am to be one of your athletes, that not only competed every year, but you guys allowed me to be myself. UCLA, you are a chapter that I will never forget! Thank you, everyone, who supported me throughout these 4 years. Love y’all so much!! With that being said, THAT GIRL! Is out, “Chiles added.
Chiles leaves the collegiate ranks with a nearly flawless resume. She finished with four NCAA titles, with highly proficient scores across the floor, vault, and bar competitions.
The 25-year-old also recently scored a historic 10 on the vault, making it 19 in total.
In terms of accolades, Chiles stands above the rest as one of the most decorated gymnasts of all time.
The two-time Olympian was included in the 2025 TIME MAGAZINE WOMEN OF THE YEAR and was also awarded the 2026 AAI Award for her record-breaking performances throughout the season.
Regardless, Chiles did not let one miss ruin her carousel of photos that included 14 of the best memories of her with the Bruins.
Chiles has certainly made a huge impact on the Bruins; head coach Janelle McDonald responded with a public tribute.
Coach Janelle McDonald replied to the post shortly after it went live.
“Kinda needed a warning before seeing this post. What an amazing journey it has been, Jojo! So many incredible memories, moments, laughs, growth, and fun! Love you, Jo, and am so proud of the impact you make on those around you. I’ll always be in your corner supporting you,” said McDonald.
The exchange highlighted Chiles’ influence on the program beyond her high scores.
While her individual achievements are endless, Chiles and UCLA were never able to go the distance and win the NCAA championship. They again crashed out of the tournament this season before the Final Four.
So, what path do you think Jordan Chiles will take next for her career?
