In 2024, Simone Biles cemented her place in Olympic history. A spot on the list of this year's highest-paid female athletes was not far behind.
She won four medals (three gold, one silver) at the 2024 Paris Olympics, bringing her career Olympic medal total to 11: seven golds, two silvers and two bronzes. By the time she left Paris, the most decorated gymnast of all-time had broken 13 records.
When she competes in the Olympics, Biles does not get paid with a salary like athletes in professional sports leagues. She only earned $137,000 in prize money from the United States for the four medals.
Nonetheless, it pays to be the G.O.A.T. By the end of 2024, Biles had made as much money as Caitlin Clark, ranking inside the top 10 of Sportico's list of the highest-paid female athletes this year.
The meager six-figure Olympic payout represented less than 2 percent of Biles' income this year. The rest came from a mix of sources, led by her long list of endorsements with companies like Athleta, Powerade and Visa.
The 27-year-old also cashed out on speaking engagements, the four-part Netflix documentary "Simone Biles Rising," and her headliner role in the post-Olympics Gold Over America Tour.
Biles' 2024 earnings totaled $11.1 million, placing her ninth among all female athletes and number one among competitors from the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Tennis players dominated the list, as Coco Gauff took home the top spot for the second year in a row with an estimated income of $30.4 million.

Six of the seven highest-paid female athletes in 2024 were tennis players. The only exception was winter Olympian Eileen Gu, a Chinese skiier who accumulated over $20 million in endorsements, ranking second behind Gauff.
Compared to 2023, the top 15 female athletes experienced a 27% bump in total earnings, showing the growth that stars like Biles and Clark have brought to women's sports. It was the first time the entire top 10 earned upwards of $10 million each.
