The public feud between American gymnast Simone Biles and former NCAA All-American swimmer-turned-outspoken Outkick and Fox Nation host Riley Gaines took a dramatic turn over the weekend.

The dispute began last week when Gaines quote tweeted a post by Minnesota State High School League X account celebrating Champlin Park, which won the 2025 Class AAAA state softball championship thanks to a dominant performance from junior pitcher Marissa Rothenberger, a biological male who threw five straight games an d allowed just one earned run in 35 innings, upsetting many parents.

“Comments off lol To be expected when your star player is a boy,” Gaines wrote.

Her message rubbed Biles the wrong way, prompting the 11-time Olympic medalist to interject and spout off a strongly worded message aimed right at Gaines.

“@Riley_Gaines_ You’re truly sick, all of this campaigning because you lost a race. Straight up sore loser. You should be uplifting the trans community and perhaps finding a way to make sports inclusive OR creating a new avenue where trans feel safe in sports. Maybe a transgender category IN ALL sports!!

“But instead… You bully them…One things for sure is no one in sports is safe with you around!!!!!” Biles wrote.

Biles followed with a second post, seemingly insulting Gaines’ physical appearance: “Bully someone your own size, which would ironically be a male @Riley_Gaines_.”

While Biles’ comment section was equally flooded by fans applauding her for standing up to Gaines and users calling Biles out for supporting men infiltrating women’s sports, the 28-year-old gymnast found herself at the center of another controversy not long after when an old tweet of hers from 2017 resurfaced.

“ahhhh good thing guys don't compete against girls or he'd take all the gold medals !! ,” Biles wrote in a quote tweet of a since deleted post by Brandon Suttles on X.

Gaines was quick to point out Biles contradictory stance.

“Oop don’t you hate it when your past self completely undermines your current nonsensical argument?” Gaines replied. “How has 2025 Simone reconciled with the fact 2017 Simone was a ‘truly sick bully’ by her own standard?”

Biles’ old tweet stirred up a social media firestorm on Sunday as fans flocked to the comment section to roast the seven-time Olympic gold medalist for her paradoxical messaging.

“So you agree, boys shouldn’t be competing against girls?” one fan asked.

“Uh oh, your hypocrisy is showing,” another stated.

“Hello foot meet mouth ,” a third fan replied.

“Man, this is ironic,” one user wrote.

“Ah so you do know the difference between males and females. Hypocrite,” remarked another user.

“Oh wow did you forget the internet is forever??” questioned another person.

“You forgot to delete this one ” one user quipped.
